この度、亀戸アートセンターでは、長谷川有里 個展『It’s not big deal』を開催いたします。

長谷川有里は、忘れ去られるものや捨てられるものの虚しさや儚さに焦点を当て、「偽物」をテーマにぬいぐるみ作品を制作している作家です。

誰もが知っている映画やアニメのキャラクターをうろ覚えの状態で下描きに起こし、そこにある違和感をそのままぬいぐるみとして形にする彼女の作品には、ユーモアや親しみやすさを感じさせつつも、決して本物にはなれない「偽物」の悲哀が表現されています。手間をかけ、ひと針ひと針「偽物」を作り上げるという、その行為の滑稽さを自覚しながら、それを取り巻く滑稽な現実を鋭く捉えることで彼女にしか出せない独自性が作品に反映されてます。

本展は、ぬいぐるみ作品に加え、映像作品、油絵を含む平面作品で構成されます。多様なメディアを通じてどのような表現が生まれるのか、この機会に是非ご高覧ください。

Kameido Art Center is pleased to announce Yuri Hasegawa's solo exhibition “It's not a big deal”.

Yuri Hasegawa is an artist who focuses on the emptiness and transience of things that are forgotten or discarded, and creates plush works on the theme of “fake.

Her works, in which she drafts characters from movies and cartoons that everyone knows from hazy memories and gives them plush forms as they are, express humor and familiarity, but also express the sadness of “fakes” that can never become the real thing.While being aware of the ridiculousness of the act of taking time and effort to create a “fake” stitch by stitch, her work reflects the uniqueness that only she can bring out by sharply capturing the ridiculous reality surrounding it.

In addition to plush toys, this exhibition will consist of video works and two-dimensional works including oil paintings. We hope you will take this opportunity to see what kind of expression is created through a variety of media.
