亀戸アートセンターは、石部巧 個展「ENCLOSURE」を開催いたします。

石部はペインティングやシルクスクリーンプリントを軸に、多様な技法を用いたミクストメディア作品を制作している作家です。

本展「ENCLOSURE」では、近年取り組んでいる「enclosure（囲い）」シリーズの作品を中心に、新作と過去作、また過去作に手を加えたリミックス作品を発表します。

「enclosure」シリーズでは、支持体の縁に沿って引かれる複数のランダムな直線が画面に「囲い」を生み出し、その内と外に絵具や印刷物、シルクスクリーンプリントによるオブジェクト、独自の転写技法による要素、設計図記号などを配置することで構成が組み立てられます。

制作は「塗る、刷る、切る、貼る、剥がす」を繰り返す過程の中で進められます。あらかじめ定められたゴールはなく、絵具のかすれやプリントミス、支持体についた傷や汚れといった予期せぬハプニングも画面の一部として肯定的に取り込みながら構成していきます。

囲いは内と外を分ける役割を担いつつも、そこには小さな隙間を含みます。その隙間は内と外を結びつける要因として機能するほか、ときには囲いを飛び越えて横断する線やオブジェクトが現れることで、相互のつながりはより複雑に揺さぶられます。特定の意味を持たない「囲い」の内外に置かれたテキストや画像、印刷片の配置や相互作用がそれらの関係性を生み出し、その関係性こそが作品の核となっています。

この「enclosure」のシリーズは、内と外、隔たりと繋がり、秩序と偶発、意味と痕跡といった相反する要素を行き来させることで、構造と素材の交差や偶発の痕跡がどう作用するかという実験です。

Kameido Art Center is pleased to present ENCLOSURE, a solo exhibition by Takuma Ishibe.

Ishibe is an artist who creates mixed media works, centering on painting and silkscreen printing while incorporating a variety of techniques.

This exhibition, ENCLOSURE, features works from his ongoing enclosure series, along with new pieces, earlier works, and remixed versions of past works. In the enclosure series, multiple random straight lines are drawn along the edges of the support, generating “enclosures” within the picture plane. Within and beyond these enclosures, Ishibe arranges painted surfaces, printed matter, silkscreened objects, elements from his unique transfer techniques, and schematic symbols. His compositions are developed through a repeated process of “painting, printing, cutting, pasting, and peeling,” without a predetermined goal. Unexpected accidents—such as paint smudges, misprints, scratches, or stains on the support—are also affirmed and integrated as part of the work.

The enclosures serve to divide the inside from the outside, but they also contain small gaps. These gaps function as connections between the inner and outer areas, and at times, lines and objects may leap across the boundaries, further unsettling and complicating these relationships. The texts, images, and printed fragments placed inside and outside the enclosures do not carry specific meanings on their own; rather, their placement and interaction form the relationships that become the core of the work.

The enclosure series is thus an experiment in how the intersections of structure and material, as well as traces of the accidental, can emerge through the oscillation between opposing elements: inside and outside, separation and connection, order and chance, meaning and trace.

【作家プロフィール】

石部巧 Takuma Ishibe

東京下町生まれ。

14 歳の時にニューヨーク のグラフィティカルチャーに衝撃を受け、そこから絵を描き始める。2001年NYへ渡り、バイクメッセンジャーをしながらアートスクールに通う。2006 年に帰国しペインティング、シルクスクリーンプリント、ミクストメディア作品の制作を中心に活動。

2018年からchappyと共に亀戸アートセンターを運営。

Born in Tokyo, Japan.

Inspired by a wide variety of sources ranging from New York graffiti culture to Japanese manga.Takuma Ishibe began painting at the age of 14. He left Japan for New York City in 2001 where he worked as a bike messenger during the day while attendingthe National Academy School of Art at night. Now, back in Tokyo, he continues to produce artwith a strong focus on painting,silkscreen printing and collage.Since 2018,He has been runnning Kameido Art Center with chappy.
