亀戸アートセンターは日本とフランスの若手作家、wu-tang、Paul Descamp、urisakachinatsuによる三人展「les trois pattes du canard アヒルの三本足」を開催します。
日本とフランス、それぞれの場所で活動する３人の作品には、一見異なる素材や手法が用いられていながら、どこか共鳴し合う感覚が流れています。本展は世代や時代感覚、または「今」という時間の中で作家たちが共通して持ち合わせている感覚が何なのかを探りたいという思いが起点となった展覧会です。
wu-tangは、石を二つに割り、一方を焼成して変色させた後、元の形に再接合することで彫刻作品を制作しています。焼かれた石は、もう一つの現実として立ち現れ、そこに生まれた同一素材の差異が、並行する世界(パラレルワールド)の存在を静かに示唆し、また、作品に誰もが容易に思い浮かべることのできるハートやチューリップなど、記号化された単純なモチーフを用いることで美術の制度や前提への静かな抵抗を表しています。また、wu-tangは石彫に限らず、日常生活の中で出会う身近なものや材料、例えば、おもちゃやブリキの板、食材といった様々な素材に興味を示し、それらを用いた実験的な作品も制作しています。その時々の環境や状況に応じて、今だからこそ生まれるアイデアを柔軟に形にする軽やかさが、彼女の創作全体に通底しています。
Paul Descampsは、ドローイングを起点に、絵画や陶芸へと展開してきたフランスのアーティストです。彼の作品には、色彩や構成の強い意志が宿り、モチーフや線の選び方にも明確な個性と緊張感が漂います。その背景には、荒木飛呂彦やCLAMP、矢沢あい、尾田栄一郎といった日本の漫画家たちからの影響があり、物語性と視覚的魅力が同時に浮かび上がるイメージの構築が特徴的です。Paulにとって「絵画」とは、単なるイラストレーションではなく「絵画として成り立つ像」であるべきものであり、その感覚を探りながら慎重に取捨選択を重ねて制作を行っています。また、陶芸作品においても「3Dの絵画」と言えるような感覚で造形を行い、ドローイングの延長として立体にアプローチしています。ジャンルを横断しながら、「描くこと」への探求を続ける彼の作品は、直感的な強度と曖昧さが同居し、観る者それぞれの解釈と読解の余地を与えてくれます。
urisakachinatsuは、グラフィックデザインや絵画、アパレル、アートグッズなど多岐にわたる活動を行う作家です。彼女の作品は、抽象的な図形や色彩、テクスチャを感覚的に組み合わせて構成されており、「好き」という感覚が全体を貫いています。完成の判断も直感的に行われ、出力された作品は何度も眺められ、じっくりと見極められます。ファッション誌やCDジャケット、そして子ども時代のカラフルなおもちゃ、そういった個人的な記憶や憧れの積層が、作品の中にに息づいています。
本展では、国や言語を超えて活動する同世代の作家たちの感性や視点に着目します。作品を通して、彼らのあいだに流れる無意識のつながりのようなものを、ぜひご自身の眼で確かめてみてください。
Kameido Art Center is pleased to present the group exhibition “les trois pattes du canard (The Three Legs of the Duck)” featuring three emerging artists from Japan and France: wu-tang, Paul Descamps, and urisakachinatsu.
Though the artists work with different materials and techniques across Japan and France, their works resonate with each other in subtle and intriguing ways. This exhibition was born from a desire to explore the shared sensibilities these artists possess—sensibilities shaped by their generation, their sense of time, and the present moment.
wu-tang creates sculptures by splitting stones in two, firing one half to change its color, and then reassembling them into their original shape. The fired stone emerges as an alternate reality, where the contrast within the same material quietly suggests the presence of a parallel world. By incorporating universally recognizable motifs such as hearts or tulips, she subtly resists the conventions and systems of the art world.Beyond stone carving, wu-tang is also drawn to everyday materials—like toys, tin sheets, and food items—and produces experimental works using them. Her practice is characterized by a lightness and flexibility, allowing her to shape ideas that arise in response to her surroundings and current context.
Paul Descamps is a French artist whose work evolves from drawing into painting and ceramics. His pieces are marked by strong intentions in color and composition, as well as a sharp tension in his choice of motifs and lines. He draws inspiration from Japanese manga artists such as Hirohiko Araki, CLAMP, Ai Yazawa, and Eiichiro Oda, resulting in imagery that blends narrative with visual allure.For Paul, painting is not simply illustration—it must stand as a complete image in itself. His practice involves a meticulous process of selection and refinement. Even in his ceramic works, which he approaches as “3D paintings,” Paul extends his drawing practice into three-dimensional space. By moving across genres, his exploration of "drawing" yields works that are both intuitively powerful and ambiguously open to interpretation.
urisakachinatsu is an artist whose practice spans graphic design, painting, apparel, and art goods. Her works are composed of abstract shapes, colors, and textures combined intuitively, all grounded in the pure sensation of "liking." She judges completion instinctively, revisiting and observing each work over time to discern its essence. Layers of personal memory and longing—such as fashion magazines, CD covers, and the colorful toys of childhood—are vibrantly alive within her creations.
This exhibition highlights the sensibilities and perspectives of a generation of artists working across national and linguistic boundaries. Through their artworks, we invite you to experience for yourself the unconscious threads that connect them.
【作家プロフィール】
▪️ wu-tang ／ フルーツ占い師など
2000年 東京生まれ。2023年 女子美術大学を卒業。
石、陶、食べ物、布など使用する素材や手法は様々、ワークショップなども積極的に行い、生活と制作を縦横無尽に駆けまわる。
最近ではフルーツ占い師としても活躍する傍ら、友人と100均についての本の制作も行っており、本は近日発売予定。

▪️Paul Descamps ポール・デカン
1995年生まれ。2016年より友人たちと共にZINEやコミックの制作を開始。2022年には、éditions matièreより初のコミック作品『zboing zboing』を出版。
アーティスト・コレクティブ「exposissimo」のメンバーとして、国内外で複数の展覧会に参加。近年では、モントリオールにてAlexandre Guayとの共作による展覧会「Céraville」を開催。また、フランス・サン＝トゥアンでは、Flore BalasおよびStephen Pauletと共に「I love humans, I love robots」を発表するなど、精力的に活動を展開している。

グラフィックデザイナー。美術・ファッション・音楽などのグラフィックデザインワークの他に、自身のビジュアルアート制作やアパレルブランド「oyster service」を運営している。
2020年大阪芸術大学デザイン学科グラフィックデザインコース卒業後、広告制作会社勤務を経て現在フリーランスで活動。
