この度、亀戸アートセンターでは、長谷川有里 個展「HELLO my name is….」を開催いたします。
長谷川有里は、忘れ去られるものや捨てられるものの虚しさや儚さに焦点を当て、「偽物」をテーマにぬいぐるみ作品を制作している作家です。誰もが知る映画やアニメのキャラクターをうろ覚えの状態で描き起こし、その違和感や曖昧さを含んだままぬいぐるみに落とし込む作品には、ユーモアや親しみやすさとともに、決して本物にはなれない存在の哀愁が漂います。
本展では、それら“偽物”たちが、まるでグループセラピーや自己啓発セミナーの参加者のように集まり、自らの存在について向き合う場が構想されています。作品には「HELLO my name is….」と書かれた名札が与えられ、それぞれが異なる不安や葛藤、あるいは言葉にならない諦めを抱えながら、その場に居合わせます。
長谷川の作品において、「偽物」はこれまで一貫して本物にはなれない存在として扱われてきました。しかし今回、その悲哀は単なる滑稽さや儚さを超え、自らが“偽物であること”を認識し、受け入れざるを得ない地点へと進みます。本展で浮かび上がるキーワードは「諦め」です。それは敗北や断念というよりも、本物になれないこと、消費され、いつか忘れ去られていくこと、そのどうにもならなさをやむおえなく受け入れる感覚なのかもしれません。
「詰まるところ、この世はまやかし。そのまやかしを使って戯れる。」
長谷川が長年抱えてきたこの感覚を根底に、本展は“偽物”たちによる集会として現れます。諦めきれず、しかし諦めようとする彼らの姿は、私たち自身の不安や欲望、あるいは救いを求める感情を映し出しているのかもしれません。

Yuri Hasegawa Solo Exhibition “HELLO my name is….”
Kameido Art Center is pleased to present HELLO my name is…., a solo exhibition by Yuri Hasegawa.
Yuri Hasegawa is an artist whose practice centers on the themes of “fakes,” focusing on the emptiness and transience of things that are forgotten or discarded. Drawing from vague memories of widely recognized characters from films and anime, she recreates them as stuffed toys while preserving their awkwardness and ambiguity. Her works carry humor and familiarity, yet also evoke a sense of melancholy—beings that can never become the “real” thing.
For this exhibition, these “fakes” are envisioned gathering together as though participating in a group therapy session or self-help seminar, confronting questions surrounding their own existence. Each work is given a name tag reading “HELLO my name is….” and occupies the space while carrying different anxieties, inner conflicts, or perhaps forms of resignation that resist being put into words.
Throughout Hasegawa’s practice, “fakes” have consistently existed as entities incapable of becoming authentic. In this exhibition, however, that sadness extends beyond mere absurdity or fragility toward a point where they become aware of, and are forced to accept, their status as “fakes.” One of the key themes emerging in this exhibition is resignation. Not resignation as defeat or surrender, but perhaps an acceptance of the unavoidable reality: never becoming real, being consumed, and eventually forgotten.
“Ultimately, this world is an illusion. We play using those illusions.”
Grounded in this sentiment that Hasegawa has long carried, the exhibition unfolds as a gathering of “fakes.” Their figures—unable to fully give up, yet trying to accept—may reflect our own anxieties, desires, or longing for salvation.

2002 東京芸術大学美術学部絵画科油画卒業
近年、東京を中心に国内外でぬいぐるみ等を使った制作活動、インスタレーションを行う。
